Oleo Hydraulic & Cellular Buffers Supplied by Vento

Vento Industrial Solutions are proud distributors of Oleo Buffers.

Hydraulic & Cellular Buffers of the highest quality provide Safety for all moving machinery.

Every rail-mounted machine at some time will find itself out of control and will impact either end stops or another machine. Hydraulic or Cellular buffers minimise the damage that will be caused to man and machine by providing a controlled deceleration and absorb the energy of the impact.

Cellular Buffers have a strong absorption capacity with long compression length. As a result, they produce favourable deceleration values.

Hydraulic Buffers offer a more controlled deceleration of the moving mass and are used on Cranes and Stock Yard Machines.

All Rail mounted moving machines should have Buffers.

Applications include:

  • Container Cranes
  • Rail Mounted Gantry Cranes
  • Stacker Reclaimers

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a hydraulic and a cellular buffer?
Hydraulic buffers absorb energy by forcing oil through a metered orifice and give the smoothest, lowest peak-force deceleration. Cellular buffers use a closed-cell elastomer and are simpler and maintenance-free for lighter duties.
How are buffers sized?
Sizing requires the impact mass, the impact velocity and the allowable peak deceleration. Vento can size buffers from your crane datasheet or rail rolling-stock data.
Do Oleo buffers require maintenance?
Hydraulic buffers should be inspected for oil leaks and rod corrosion annually. Cellular buffers are essentially maintenance-free.
