Rail Clamp

A rail clamp is a hydraulic, spring-applied storm brake that grips the side of the crane rail. It holds the gantry against wind when the crane is parked.

Where used

STS, RMG and RTG cranes in port environments.

Operation

Spring-applied jaws clamp the rail head; thruster release allows travel.
